America's thoughts on Superbowl 2025

well ........ THAT was a beatdown........ for those who didn't watch, it was 34-0 with a minute left in the 3rd quarter, at that point, the chiefs have yet to cross the 50 yard line........everything else was garbage time

:drinks: :drinks: :drinks: :drinks: :drinks:

saw taylor swift ONCE....... with a pouty face

her boyfriend caught all of 4 passes for 39 yards, all in garbage time

Eagles celebrating on the sideline......gatoraide bath for the coach......... backups in the game on offense and defense........ and the classless chiefs, who should just run the ball and end the game throw a bomb for a TD......... what a loser move :icon_fU::icon_fU::icon_fU::icon_fU::icon_fU:

Eagles Flagged For Roughing The Passer On Pregame Handshake

NEW ORLEANS, LA — The Philadelphia Eagles were flagged for roughing the passer before the Super Bowl even got underway, receiving a 15-yard penalty for shaking Patrick Mahomes' hand too hard after the coin toss.

The flag came out when the team captains performed the traditional pre-game handshake, with refs stating that the handshake was much too firm.
"Personal foul, squeezing too hard on the handshake, number one of the Eagles," called referee Mark Stewart. "Player made contact with the quarterback's pinkie in a non-caressing way. The fifteen-yard penalty will be assessed on the kick-off. That play is under video review."

The video review team broke down the handshake, noting that the Philadelphia Eagles player went palm up, swinging his palm in an aggressive manner. "You just can't do that in today's NFL," said broadcaster Tony Romo. "Look at the way he then pulls Mahomes in closer for the shoulder bump, making clear contact. That's going to be 15 yards all day, Jim."

At publishing time, the refs had flagged Philadelphia for unsportsmanlike contact for failing to say "have a good game" to Mahomes with sufficient enthusiasm.

This was my Stuporbowl. In this pic is my bride, her sister and spouse, my brother and spouse, a cousin from Tacoma and spouse, a niece and spouse, a nephew and son, my best bud from Idaho and spouse, and a hunting buddy and spouse. Friends and family, good food and drink and rowdy conversation. Life is good!

Oh yeah, there was also a game on.
Spoiler alert: The red guys lost!

The green guys.
But from an ex rugby player, it is a silly game.
Sat next to a US guy that moved to BC. We discussed rules and things. Those high tackles, around the neck, are not allowed in rugby. There were very few decent tackles the whole game. Green 19 did well. Some good basketball throws tho. I wore my Csonka shirt. It is also green. Might get decent $$$ for that shirt someday.
Rugby scrum average weight about 250.
Average front row, about 330 I think was reported.

Thank you, sir. That's my wife's idea. I came home from Elk camp one year to find it laying on the living room floor in pieces, and the request (instruction) to hang it on the wall. It was a bit of a challenge. I commissioned the 12' cedar strip canoe hanging on the opposite wall.

Chiefs Fire Their Refs

Feb 10, 2025

NEW ORLEANS, LA — Following a demoralizing loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, news broke early Monday morning that the Kansas City Chiefs had moved quickly to fire their referees.

While the team's officials had performed well enough all season to contribute to a number of victories, the referees' inability to come through in the clutch when the team needed them the most led the Chiefs to believe a change needed to be made.

"They just weren't getting the job done, so we're making a change," said General Manager Brett Veach. "There are a lot of different positions on this team, and they all have a responsibility to do their jobs to help the team win. When one or more of the people in those positions don't perform up to expectations, it's tough to win. That's why we had no choice but to cut ties with our officiating crew. They had a good run for us, and we're sorry that it just didn't work out in the end. We wish them the best, and we'll be looking to add some new referees as we regroup for next season."

Head referee Ron Torbert expressed disappointment but understood the nature of the business. "When you don't perform, you end up on the chopping block," he said. "This is a results-driven game. We showed up strong all season long and into the playoffs, but we didn't help our team win last night. That's on us."

At publishing time, Chiefs scouts were said to already have their eyes on referees they may be interested in adding through free agency and the draft to come back strong next fall.

We don’t play the Asian American National Anthem, the Muslim American National Anthem, the Indian American National Anthem, or the Native American National Anthem. We don’t play the national anthem for any other race, color or creed. So, what has caused us to play favorites with Black Americans over every other race during the Super Bowl?

The point is, the moment you start playing favorites, you inevitably exclude everyone else. You don’t foster unity—you create division. You send a message, intentional or not, that one group’s experience is more deserving of recognition than another’s.
