Youngsters trade Miatas like old guys used to trade lunch items in school. They change hands faster then you can blink. Lots of sales volume doesn't really mean the sales are going up.
Try buying one and see if that data is correct! Good luck! They lost money since 2022.
View attachment 1960138Values for Chargers have dipped in recent years but remain higher than before the pandemic. We expect the younger buyers to push prices up in the coming years.
Reading before complaining is a good thing.
The value of 40's and some 50's is not in pristine cars but in patina rat rods to the younger crowd. And they want in at under 10k.I think all they are saying the Chargers are poised to climb again. With dipping values for #3 condition (good) Chargers in recent years, it’s a solid buy right now for those seeking a slice of all-American muscle. From what I've heard, classic Mustangs were hit the hardest in this downturn. Hagerty thinks Mopars are doing well compared to a lot of other makes.
I thought this was the most interesting sentence.
Of course, Charger enthusiasm isn’t constrained to any one age group (52% of owners in our database are Gen X or younger).
I watched all of Mecum's auction last weekend in Kansas City. Mopars were not doing great. The auction was 45% Chevy trucks, 45% muscle cars, and 10% other. I saw a truck bid to $125K and it didn't hit the reserve. The nicest trucks were going higher than '70 Road Runners, Challengers, and Barracudas.
I honestly felt bad for some 40's and 50's owners that looked like they spent $100K and were getting $17K.
Free fun.Since we started the list nearly a decade ago, our goal has been to bring more folks into the tent. We purposely include a wide variety of cars from different eras and at different price points. Any car is a significant cash outlay, but our overarching point is that you could potentially buy one of the vehicles on our list, enjoy it for a few years, and then pass it on for about what you have in it. That’s free fun, or close to it, and what other hobbies offer that? It’s all about serving the Hagerty community with useful, valuable information.
