Another Hoosier here! I had two 1968 Chargers in 1974. Both were 383 auto cars, the first one I paid $350.00 for. The body was in good shape except for surface rust on the doors and quarters from door dings. It was yellow which I hated so I painted it the green Chrysler offered in 1971. It had a green vinyl top, green tinted window (but no a/c) and green and gold upholstery. My wife absolutely loved it, but when a buddy saw it and offered me $1800.00 for it I sold it with a promise that I would buy her another Charger. The second was a blue one with a black vinyl roof and blue upholstery. I got it for $300.00 because the engine was junk (someone dumped sand in the oil filler tube) so I bought a wrecked 1968 Roadrunner for $275.00 and swapped the engines. But it didn't drive as nicely as the green one. I don't remember what I did with it.

A buddy of mine has a green 1969 Hemi Charger 500 with an automatic tranny stored in a barn. He parked it in 1983 and keeps telling me he is "going to restore it someday." It is the real deal, but the engine is missing. If anyone is interested in some snapshots of it I have some I can post.

Welcome from another fellow Hoosier. Love to see the pics of the 500.

I have them on my computer at work so I will post them tomorrow. Guarantee your gonna be blown away. It only has a little over 30,000 actual miles, with very little rust through, just a little surface rust on the hood and fenders. The barn is a steel one with a concrete floor and is used to store farm machinery. I am gonna try and get some more shots of it this spring or summer. His new GF has not seen it yet so maybe if I put a bug in her ear she will get him to drive down and take both of us with him. He doesn't want to bother the farmer any more than necesssary as he isn't charging him anything to store it. The original owner pulled the engine and put it in an Anglia hot rod and sold the car to my buddy for $300.00. He put a 318 in it and drove it until 1983.
