My first question is is this assembled properly?

My second question is in what orientation does this little arm attach to the wiper motor? When I shut it off last time it parked below the stop, I gonna bet that’s not correct.

When I did mine I connected up the wiper motor electrically and ran and parked it. All without the linkage connected.
At that point you cannot get that crank wrong.

Chad, Check the link I posted with the FULL INFO about all this system on the other thread. There are pictures of the diff setups available

So it’s not possible to put the crank 180 degrees out?

Yes I believe you can get it 180 out. That crank can go on either way.
Work the linkage by hand to ensure no binding and it looks to be working right.
Do not connect to the motor until you are sure the direction the motor and linkage rotates in and it will not jam up.
Lay the linkage out of the way.
Power the motor to run and park.
Attach linkage so the wiper pivots are at the bottom of the screen.

That’s what I’m doing and the only way it kind of lines up is with the nut between the crank arm and the linkage, I can’t get it to seat to get the nut on it though.

Is there a slight burr in the hole or on the wiper motor?
You may need to clean up carefully with a needle file.

Not that I can see, I just had it on but had new style wipers that popped an arm off when they didn’t clear the hood. I got new refills for my original wipers and now can’t get it back together.

Yeah I have looked at all of that and it doesn’t seem to help me out.

Looking at your pics you seem to have it right.
I am sure you will have a burr somewhere.

You have the driver’s side links on the wrong studs. The inter-connect links goes on the bottom, motor links goes on the top. It will bind like that, ask me how I know.

One of the pictures in Nacho’s old dodgecharger.com thread is wrong. Check out the last couple of posts by user “nge”, who also determined then the picture of the plastic bushing version shows it is assembled wrong.

Will check for that! My assembly is laters one with plastic bushings and I’m pretty sure never got that problem when I upgraded from 2 to 3/var speeds and refreshed all bushings.

( I got a 71 var switch with its plugs so I have a 71 option on my 74 )
