Hello guys and thanks for stopping in and checking out this post. So no I'm not going crazy as some of you know I've been trying to buy a 100+ year old house but sadly my wife can't live in that old of a house every one we saw here asthma acted up. So what can I do ??? I bought a late 80's early 90's house and I'm antiqueing the Hell out of it I'm doing good so far but I'm getting stuck because I live in fl. And old houses just are here like purity much everywhere else . So I'm looking for a late 1800's - teens or 20's toilet where the wood tank is up on the wall and has the pull chain then the bowl underneath. I know this is a bit odd of a request but I got the best spread on here I got guys everywhere in every state that can ask around look around ,I bet one of you guys probably have one sitting out in your shed . Condition isn't a huge concern no brakes or cracks please I need it to work after I restore it . So anyone got anything?
Please help me out or my bathroom might be boring.
I'm in the middle of restoring the claw foot tub for that bathroom and making a 100 year old dressing table/ dresser turn into a cabinet for my sink I really want to blow minds here's a picture of what I want (it's obviously not put together and hanging on the wall but you'll get the idea thanks as always and looking forward to the help Screenshot_2015-12-29-23-45-23.jpg

I have restored an old house before. It turned out fantastic, but it took me 8 years and a lot of work and money. Not too dissimilar to restoring an old Mopar actually. The toilet looks great. I restored a 100 year toilet at my last house and it was a real talking point. Go for it, just be aware what lies ahead. Good luck.

I don't think it would be hard at all to build the wooden tank, to me that would be the harder part to find anyways? I like it, will definitely raise a few eyebrows and look really neat too.

Thanks that toilet will work with some mods I emailed the guy is anyone near this toilet? Where someone can pick up and ship it. I'll make it worth while

I can't help with the plumbing issue but please tell me, How do you make a 90's plasterboard wall into a old style solid plaster wall with lath's and screening that you can't put your fist through without busting the snot out of it? Good Luck

antique, you youngsters... I would have indoor plumbing for me and an OUTHOUSE for the guests!!! that would give them conversation!?????

I had a gravity toilet in the last house I restored actually made by ACME (meep meep) I removed it carefully during a renovation. (couldn't keep using it due to space constraints adding a shower) and preserved it and tried to sell it.

I actually regret leaving it behind when I sold the house it was sitting in the garage attic space

I'll try and get a pic posted of mine I'm sure I have some

Instead of the antique toilee, have you considered the 3rd world toilee?

Or, with this cool set up, you always pee, fart and **** with your in-laws....

There have actually been studies showing that squatting while taking a dump is better than sitting on a bowl!!!!

Maybe for some, but I have no problem with sitting and pinching a loaf. In fact, I like the comfort height toilees better.

That looks like a mess just waiting to happen but at least you could lay down to take a leak in the moring!

Cool, But were do you stack the car mags with no tank behind you ? (:

Come on guys I need a toilet I getting sick of going out side with the dogs ,there starting to look at me funny because I race them out to the yard to find the perfect spot !!!
Yes the old gravity feed toilets are antique sorry if anyone that grew out with this may be offended. But **** happens (punn intended) I was walking my mother threw an antique mall the other day and you all should of seen her face I was picking stuff up left and right asking don't you have one of these by the end of the trip it occurred to her she was classified as an antique.

I'll be honest I really wanted the 100+ year old house that was on 1.5 ac. And had 3 garages on property but my wife just couldn't Handel something in the house we think the wood roof shingles . So like I said next best thing I'm going to make my early 90's house look as old as possible obviously I'm not getting rid of the good new features but adding some cool old ones to class the place up a lot . Between the claw foot tub and this toilet when I can find one the dark bamboo flooring and I stripped and stained all my trim very dark and added wood anywhere I could got antique lighting and then haveing most everything in my house being 100 years old give or take a bit it should give the feeling of a 100+ year old home (I hope) if not I wasted my money and I'll try again till I get it right. Or till I get board then back to mopars

By the way this is the guest bathroom I don't want magazine s in there then they would never come out

I remember when I walked into a mall in northern Japan and went to hit the Men's room. There were like 10 stalls in there. Half were western toilets and the other half were the squater specials. I was the only round eye in there, and there was a line for the western toilets and no one was using the squatters. So I don't buy the squatting is better notion. :)

What was funny was on my first trip to Japan, I got to the hotel in Tokyo, went to take a dump, and when I sat on the toilet I heard music like the stuff the two Mothra gals used to sing start playing. I was like WTF, is there a radio on? Then when I got up the music stopped. I found out the toilets play music when you sit on them so people can't hear your plops. LOL Gotta love the Japanese. :)

Maybe you need to lose a few pounds, RC !!!!

"Standard models, 14 inches from floor to rim, now compete with "comfort height" toilets that tower more than 17 inches of the floor. Americans, now fatter than ever, are having trouble standing up from a sit, never mind a squat."

No doubt that I could lose 20 lbs, but i find that it's more comfortable to sit at a normal height seat height, whether it be the kitchen table or the Ferguson.
