Any Good Ideas How to Substitute a Lost Timing Light Adaptor (spring thing)?

Need to find something around here I can use to hook up old school timing light which is without the spring adaptor that went from the spark plug to the spark plug wire so a spot would be available for the timing light. Thank you for any ingenuous ideas.

Just slide a paper clip along either the plug or cap terminal boot. You do not need a spring, just something to make contact with the terminal.

Take a spark plug to the hardware store. Get a spring that will fit onto the spark plug tip. Snip the spring hook off the end.

I just recycled my old timing light, and bought a new one. So sorry, you are too late. But I do like the new unit, that has a clip to go over the plug wyre. Test yours, it may be like mine and not work.
