I bought AMD front and rear bumpers for my 1969 Sport Satellite project, but, they are junk as far as the body shop and I are concerned. So, I am looking for a shop that will straighten out any dents and re-chrome the original bumpers for me. Any suggestions?

Stockton Bumper around my parts of the country, not sure where your at.
Richard Cranium would maybe know...

it's almost cheaper, in many cases to just buy new AMD's,
like you did, if they are available for your car, it's a hit & miss on quality
the OE's weren't that great either, wavy etc.

chome/re-chroming is pricey & labor intensive

maybe see if they can hand pick a set for you,
tell them your not happy with the quality, fit or straightness or
what ever it is, that's not to your & your body shops likings

good luck

Thanks Budnicks. The quality was awful as was the fitment. We found cracks in corners, rust under the chrome, etc. They both did not fit at all. I live in Taxachusetts.

I've got a good one out is Los Angeles but you're too far away. Cost plus would kill you. They did a ice job on my bumpers and had some straightening work to do on the front one. They're called the Bumper Man.

Pauls chrome in Pa can fix anything and make it shine, but you will pay for it. $1000-$1500 per bumper.

I have a friend here in GA that does a killer triple chrome job. He just did my front and working on my rear

Keystone--auto body material sales You can have your bumpers picked up at any of Keystones customers. They deliver them to their bumper shop in South Mn. where they are straightened and triple chrome plated and then returned to where they were picked up. No shipping charges. Very happy with my 64 Dodge bumpers and cost was about $700 for the pair. They will give you a price if you call with your info. ...............................MO

X2. They did a great job on my Charger bumpers.

Hawkeye, I just went to that site, called sales and was told that they are NOT the company that dies this. She asked me for my zip code and gave me the "right" number. As they are closed after 5PM EST, I will contact them on Monday. I appreciate the effort though.
Thanks guys. Again ask FBBO a question and get the answers needed.

I have had 5 pairs of bumpers done by them with no problems and they are warrantied for life of your ownership.

Do you.mind sharing what problems you ran into?

They only did one set for me, but the quality of their work was terrible. The bumpers have waves and sanding scratches. The bumperettes have been sent back 3 times already. Once for a broken stud, and twice for chrome chipping off. I know a lot of guys are using them with good results and that is why I tried them, but never again. They are the cheapest out there though. I chalked it up to you get what you pay for.

That's surprising, was that recent?

At $450 per bumper quoted for my X is the going price these days other than Paul's chrome.....

Okay that's settles it. Nobody can chrome as well. Next thread........
