Just ordered a new old 9000 series AFB carb to replace my stock one as I could not get the jet out and I just realised it has a 5 inch head, any way to use the stock 4 1/4 air cleaner with it?
This the right one guys?Mr. Gasket used to have adapters. I used them in the past.
Oh that sounds perfect as I'd love to take advantage and still keep the stock cleaner, can you send me a link to what I need if you have time as I see loads of different ones online?Purple Beeper has a point, the spacer adapter is the least costly way to accomplish using your stock air cleaner, however there are new aftermarket 5 " bases that could be used too that will give you the full flow to the carburetor. They are not as wide across as the original bases, so it would give you an unsilenced air cleaner in the end, due to the incoming air coming into the filter from every direction. This might be your best bet and because it sets under the air cleaner, nobody is going to see it anyway.
