anybody own a Allstar B/B engine cradle? Opinion on product.

Fed Ex dropped one off Sat. from jegs?best price I could find with shipping. The bolts for the casters take a 1/2"-13 stem. I bought 5" casters off amazon for $45 with shipping (two locking,two just swivel link follows).
Fitment was dead on to engine, great finish on them (didn't feel like I needed to give them a coat of rattle can before assembly) .
Couple ******* though . the holes for the cross bar are dimpled in requiring four more washers then included.
The included mountning bolts do not have any storage nuts welded on the frame( less expensive cradles for other makes have 'em and the bolts don't get lost...) I will probably weld some on in the future. What I don't like about those types of cradles is that you can't mount the bellhousing to the engine while it's attached to the cradle.

I've built at least 4 of these over the years to store extra big blocks. I used 2x6's and 2x4's, and 3" screws. The notch is for filter clearance.

Wooden big block engine support/ cart.

I used construction fir. See attached photo. Dimensions (left to right):
front & rear= (1&2 ) 2x6x18" w/ 3 1/2" x 1 1/2" notch for oil filter clearance.
sides = (3 & 4) 2x6x22 3/4".
bottom = (5&6) 2x4x25 3/4".
24-#8x3" bugle head wood screws. 4 at corners, 2 to attach each end of bottom pieces.
Casters of your choice. I prefer steel as they do not develop flat spots while parked.

I had one of the engine cradles that Andy F (AR Engineering) made. Bought it through Hughes Engines. I sold the engine and the guy wanted the cradle too, so I sold it to him. I went to order another and they no longer make them. I contacted Andy F and he said he had no plans to make more?

I own 2 of those, one has a bad wheel
Easily remedied...

And yes, I have 2 wooden ones placed on top of Harbor Freight moving dollies...
Cheap and works great
