i have tried to order something from The Ram Man this week and I can't get ahold of him. I have left a couple messages, now his mailbox is full. His email doesn't work. Does anyone know if they are still in business?
Thanks Dennis

That might tell you something about him. Look elsewhere for what you need. Dr Diff is a great start.

I am needing a booster and master cylinder for a 1970 Road Runner with disc front and drum rear. I would like to have the ports on the engine side on the master cylinder because that is how mine is set up now.
Thanks Dennis

Contact Cass at Dr. Diff, he’ll be able to set you up.

O P ,
Are you going to actually drive your car ?? Or is it going to be a Trailer Queen ??
Manifold side outlets were RECALLED , because , if you drive your car , the ports are too close to the manifold, too much heat , and you would lose your breaks / too much heat / vapor lock….something to seriously consider ….

First time I’ve ever heard that, do you have any documentation on Chrysler doing a recall on master cylinders?
They used the disc brake MC with ports on the engine side on B bodies from ‘68-70. 3 model years. Back 20 years ago when I was buying and selling a lot of NOS master cylinders, I saw those (casting 2226821)with date codes into the early to mid 70s, so if they recalled that style, it’s interesting that Bendix was still selling them as replacement parts into the mid 70s.
There were several aftermarket versions available over the years too. Someone sold one with bosses on both sides of the casting and machined ports into the side required, probably was EIS or Wagner. I worked for Brake Parts Inc and we didn’t have that style with our United line and later Raybestos.
And someone sold one for a couple years in around 2005.
Back to the OPs question, Ram man does have a sketchy reputation. If you have an original master cylinder and you need to have it restored, the go-to reliable source to rebuild master cylinders is Brake and Equipment Warehouse in Minneapolis. They may do boosters too, not sure.
If you don’t have cores to restore, then unfortunately you need to search all the online sources and swap meets.
NOS or rebuilt OEM parts used to be fairly easy to find 20 years ago. They’re still out there but much harder to find now and expensive!

My '69 GTX has the original master cylinder, with the engine facing ports. It was the dealer's personal car for 15 years. If there was a recall, I think it would have been replaced. I've driven it for four years, with no braking issues.

The Ramman is the last person in the world that I would buy anything from.

Where THE F*** DID YOU HEAR that? As far as I know, the only cars that had the fender side outlets were the Hemi cars. All of the 383 and 440 power disc brake cars had the engine side outlets.

There are several things special about the 70 power disk brake system in 1970, but have never heard of the engine side ports on the master cylinder being a problem. The brake bleeding procedure is different, the funky residual valve is a problem, and to me a vapor lock problem has nothing to do with brakes. @mobileparts usually provides great information and has some rare parts, but I will need proof.

I met the Ram Man one time at the Mopar Nationals in Columbus. My personal opinion is he's an arrogant A$$ hole, know it all. If you must draw your own opinion, but I wouldn't buy jack from him.

I had a midland booster redone by him a while ago. Absolute garbage and took forever, didn't think I would ever get it back. The only thing he did was plating the housing, all of the internals were old and dry rotted. Wouldn't hold vacuum for more than a few seconds. What a scam artist. I did a post here a while back were I took it apart and replaced the internals with parts from harmon brakes. Works great now.

I find it funny the Ram Man uses an article written by member XS22J8R (Post #8) on his website as a technical guide but doesn't credit the man that wrote it....

I’m glad to not have him give me recognition as I want no association with him!
I recall when he first hit the scene, might have been 2008 or 2009. He was on Moparts advertising disc brake B body style master cylinders with the ports on the fender side, aftermarket made by my old employer Brake Parts Inc, but he said they were rare OEM hemi master cylinders. Me and several others there on the site called him out and I mentioned I knew the parts as being MC36283 from Brake Parts not OEM Bendix, he got all huffy and defensive about it.
But later he seemed to figure it all out about what was correct and what casting numbers to use to ID them, undoubtedly from my Mopar Action article.
