April Mopar Giveaway 2024-Phase III & III-A

Hint #2: The rear side windows did not roll down. You know, no window cranks.
so was it like that from the factory,
or was it modified like a cop car to not roll down (?)

never mind it's not a 4 door

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

what we do know (maybe)

it's not white obviously (he said it's not white)

it's not a Charger obviously (he said it's not a Charger)

it's not a Dodge (he said it's not a Dodge)

so it's a Plymouth
(we know that fact, he mentioned he wouldn't tell a story about a Ford beating his Plymouth)

it has fixed rear side/qtr windows
*must be a Belvedere, RR or Duster
(Trailduster ?, that would throw us all off)
It's not a Valiant (he said he would NOT drive a Valiant)
*to have fixed non roll down or opening rear qtr windows
so it has to be 1970 or later to 73-74ish (?)

*(Did a 71 or later Fury I HT/2dr Coupe, have fixed rear qtr windows ? I have no idea)

*I'm not sure a Sat or Sport Sat or Sat Sport Sebring or Sat Sebring Plus
ever came with rubber matts, they were upper end models
I assume they didn't

so it's a 2 dr/coupe

it has rubber matts not carpeting,
so down market car or a fleet style spec. car too

it can do at least 120mph (assume it has a performance v8)

he was a poor student, it's not a higher end/expensive car for the time
model prior to or a 1979, & it wouldn't be new he was poor student
I assume an older car

*Could it be a 74-78-ish Plymouth Trailduster ?
2 dr,
fixed (non opening) rear windows, rubber matts,
v8 to go 120
color (?) you got me
most all of them I've seen were reds or blues & 2 tones,
few blacks & greens, it's not a Dodge or a Valiant
that meets the criteria
There's so many other colors to choose from

I'm so confused
:carrot:

reread the posts & instructions several times
& all the clues again & again

1) must be a GTX, RR, Belvedere, Satellite
or Sport Satellite (Satellite Sport Sebring), or a Duster
if it's a Plymouth (aided by hints),
you also said; you didn't drive a Valiant so out it goes
if we're (or I'm) not being thrown off by hints

2) Must be a 2 dr coupe if it has fixed rear qtr windows too
I ruled out Cricket, I assume they can't go 120mph

3) if so then it should be somewhere in 71-74-ish
are the only ones with fixed rear qtr windows
I can think of (aided by hints)

4) I'd assume it'd also be a model you could get a v8 too, min. of 318,
I'd also assume a 340/360 383/400 or 440, one of the performance models
to even go 120mph sustained for any time, probably 3.23:1 gear (maybe 3.55:1)

I don't think (?) the 'cuda or Barracuda or grand coupe in those years
had a fixed rear qtr window
not that I remember anyway (correct ?)

5) I went green colors because you said you like greens :poke:

6) it has rubber floor coverings so it's a lower end base model
that rules out GTX, Satellite & Satellite Sport/Sebring's, they are upper end
would have carpet at a min.

7) that leaves us with RR, Belvedere or a Duster

am I getting close at all ?
on any of my assumptions

1) Yes
2) Yes
3) Yes
4) It came from the factory with a 318-2V, 2.71:1 rear end, and 14" wheels with G78 belted bias tires by General. My mods were a spread bore 340 intake and aftermarket Holley, dual exhaust, and a 340 flat tappet cam from the dealership (I believe it was a Direct Connection cam, but not sure any longer). I had no problem putting the speedometer needle out of sight and keeping it there on that wide sweep 120 mph speedometer. Did that several times on Richmond/Charlottesville roundtrips at night with no traffic around. I did not change the speedometer gear in the transmission.

I don't believe I have seen any E-Body cars with rear, side windows.

5) Not any of the greens.

6) It was a low optioned dealership demo car. Almost a "stripper". It was one of the models you ruled out.

7) No, but close. You'll need to reeassess after reading all of the above.

Not a truck.
Not a two-tone paint scheme car.
Not a vinyl top car.
No a/c.
Driver's door mirror only.
I am a big Richard Petty fan. I can't endlessly recite his racing statistics, but I am a big fan.

1972
Plymouth Satellite 2dr coupe
B3 Basin Street Blue.

So it's a Satellite of some sort SS SSS or GTX ?
71-74 I assume, with the rear window deal
now lets figure out color it's not green (color that's the hard one)
& then the year

I assumed (probably wrong) all Satellites would have had carpeting,
unless like a cop car or fleet vehicle & 4 doors

hum, scratching my chin... in bewilderment
