Are you a 0-60 guy or a top speed guy?

I am one of the slow drivers in four wheels, and one of the faster guys on two wheels. But I am generally slowing down.
Pushing 80 is exercise and exciting enough.

On streets, I drive under 10 over. On the track, triple digits are the norm. Don’t do burnouts, prefer to stick and go.

0 to the posted speed limit here. And then maybe about 5 over. Too old to put the hammer down and drive as though the others are outta their FOOKING MINDS!!! Older age does have some advantages. Cautious and prudent...cr8crshr/Bill:usflag::usflag::usflag:

None of the above any more. I did too much of that as a younger man. I don't need to go fast or quick to enjoy the ride.

Light to light for me. In Michigan the roads are too crappy to try top end for long.

I keep to +10mph the speed limit on the roads, but I get there quick. Drove the GTX just today, punched it at 50mph and had the rear end slip out a bit and I let off. I was grinning ear to ear and my wife was smiling too. I just love doing burnouts.

Definitely a 0-60 guy. Fastest I've ever driven was 135, and that was on a dragstrip.
I'm sure my Camaro ss will top out more than that, and I routinely drive an area where I could.... but I have NO desire to risk the consequences of something bad happening. Least-bad would be a ticket for reckless, and a HUGE fine.
And everything else I have with power has too much gear to consider what top end it might have. They are geared for 1/4 mile.
For reference: my best 0-60 is 1.93 seconds.

I don’t like to go much over the speed limit. And I don’t care to hotrod around town and put others at risk. Open county road I love to drop the hammer from a stop. Im more of a closed course kind of guy for really getting after it.

These cars aren't built for top end unless you do a restored with better trans.

17/18 I cruised most Friday nights with the rallye speedo in the Bee wrapped back at zero on 2.94's and never thought twice about it. Today, they just shoot you. Back then it was cat and mouse and they'd "get you tomorrow". Came close, but never happened. Still have one of our town's finest as a Facebook friend that claims he'll get me one day!

I'm an all the above guy, I want it all, you could have it too
disconnect the sways bar up front to go drag racing
still want the car to handle, when not racing it
& I live in the sticks
a straight line only car does nothing for me
I like the rush of hooking up & running a sub 1.3 sec. 60ft
had 26 cars now that would easily do that
or a sub 3 sec. (or sub 2) 0-60mph or 3 sec.s to 100-140mph easily,
but it's worthless on a country mountain windy road

my 70 Trans Am Ram Air 400 4 speed 4.30:1 rear gears
was a great handling car & fast too, not a 1/4 mile car really
I loved driving it in the hills
my 2002 Firehawk/TA WS6 was faster & far better car,
just not the same thrills, & got like 23mpg if you weren't driving like a teenager

Give me a 4x4 like a TRX that does it all, still creature comfy & f--king fast
even fast as f--k on dirt/gravel/sand etc. with 35" tires & 16"s of travel stock

you can have it all, all it takes is good $$$ decisions, on how it's spent
I've been 5.95 @ 227mph in a T/AD
been 6.69 @ 217mph in a T/S car,
or 6.90 @ 190 all day long in a 23 T Altered, it's far more fun
speed is relative

I did some Sprint Car racing when I was 18-19, that was a rush
sub 13-14 sec.s 1/4 or 1/2 mile to even mile tracks, mile dirt oval,
just not my deal, I was filling in for a Buddy that got hurt, car owner asked me too
a rush while it lasted, 1200#s & 800hp, sliding thru turns, even w/my 250# frame

been in a Pre-runner Dodge 4wd we built out of a old (Mitsbishi) D-50,
back in the later 80s, nowhere near anything stock, just badging
that thing was impressive
400hp 4 banger, 4 speed, for what it was, on dirt, gravel, sand & 6ft whoops,
back then 12''-14"s of travel was great, & a lot more seat time too
too much actually, so much your butt starts to hurt, the dust/silt
was unbearable at times too

been on some fast bikes too,
hell the 85 VMax 1200, minor mods, I had was a beast, fast, for no slick
150+ hp between your legs, no cage on a street with other assh--es
or at the track or driving/riding to the track
hell I thought my IT400 78 (?) Yamaha, was fast at the time it was
so was my Yamaha 95 Banshee 350 4 banger 2 stroke/built Daytona 350 motor
big pipe, trick reeds, 22"x 12x 12" chevron tires, 16" of front travel
& 0-90 in 8 seconds, in dirt/mud
on a quad, will wake you up quick

My KTM 495 was almost unrideable at wide open, scary fast
but would handle the whoops like not other bike I ever had

someone sense of speed, or opinions depends on the person
& their experience in life, different strokes for different folks

There is a time and a place for burn outs, I might do one a year. Other than that I drive pretty conservatively. I know what my car is capable of,I don’t need to use it every time I drive.
I have a few pretty fast bikes, and I do ride them to their potential quite a bit.

I like a little bit of it all but I’m slowing down. The last blast to 155 was enough. I’d rather try a road course now. A quick snap off the line and stop light playing is fun but high speed just doesn’t cut it with all the traffic and it will cost some coin if I get caught and worse if there is a wreck.
