Automatic shifter

It's been a long time since I ran a stock automatic console shifter. I was testing the car last night and pulled it into low, and was surprised to find that the shifter almost touched the center console arm rest. Is that normal? it seems like an awfully long throw.

Thanks, I was starting to wonder if my linkage was just worn out and sloppy.
