Found out my K frame is abit tweaked on my 70 Coronet R/T. A friend of mine has a few E body K frames available. Does anyone know if there is a difference?

Also, I've seen k frames listed on ebay that say they fit big block or small block. Again, is there a difference?

Thanks,
Chris

Somewhere buried in a thread or two on here someone has posted a list of K frame applications and part numbers. I believe it shows (for the most part) different part numbers for a big or small block. That said people swap motors back and forth with no problems. I put a 440 in a 68 wagon originally equipped with a 318 and didn't change the K. I didn't even change the motor mounts (the rubber pieces), just the engine plates. So while there may well be some minor differences between a big and small K, they are (for the most part) interchangeable.

As far as whether you can swap in one from an "E" into your 70 "B", my guess would be no.

Yes you can swap the E body k frame to your 70 coronet. They are the same, so have an afternoon of knuckle bustin' and a few adult soda's.

I'm not sure what year the E body K frames are off of, but I'm going to guess 71-73. will that still work? I hear the E body K frame may change the angle of the gear box slightly.

Adult sodas are a must.

Thanks. Talked to a guy today that says he's put B body Kframes on Cudas, 3 of them. Now I'm wondering if I just have a waek torsion bar though. I'm getting a second opinion. A K frame is pretty rugged, and it seems like it would take a prety goo wreck to bend it.
