back glass Interior molding falling off

What glue do you guys use to glue the plastic molding onto the headliner around the back glass. The one side never stays put.

It is suppose to press on around the steel lip were the teeth are for the headliner around the back of the window. Mine does not stay well either.

I hear ya. I really have had a hard time with mine. I have also been patience trying to figure out a better way and have not come up with one. I usually move on to another problem and keep this one on the back burner till I think of something. Good luck.

I would use something like silicone so it can easily be removed. you will need to make something to hold it in place until it sets up. I have never done this, just a thought.

Are these OEM parts that are 48 years old or the Re-Pops that are falling off? I'm going to have to buy the Re-Pops soon, and would like to know what I'm up against. Thanks!

ball up some butyl tape and tuck it into the groove of the trim every couple of inches. Better than silicone.

I think they are reproduction pieces, but I can not say for certain. I have to get the back glass re-set as it leaks so I will ask the glass place to use some of the tape on the molding. Thanks for all the tips.

Wrote mine off as a characteristic years ago. I will watch the thread for feedback on the fix that is best.

I'd think that black, 3M weatherstrip adhesive would work.
