Hey guys. New to this board, long time member of Moparts.

Born and raised Mopars, my first project was a 73 RR when i was 23, which I restored, then bought a 71 Challenger 2yrs later, couldn't afford the parts to finish it, sold the 73 to finish the 71. (Regret that one):violent-smiley-100:. Finished the 71, sold it a year later to try IVF with the wife. (no sucess):BangHead:. Now I'm back on the wagon after a year and half dryspell. :eek:ccasion14:
Just bought a super straight complete 67 Satellite 2dr HT, which I'm planning to clone to a GTX. Looking forward to dealing with you guys for questions and parts as it progresses. Good to be back in the B body world. The E body world was just too chaotic.

Thanks!

Carey

Welcome! I've owned A, B, and E bodies...problem with those E bodies is every part costs an arm and a leg!!

B-Bodies are bad enough with the price of parts, I feel for anyone trying to do a E-Body if the price of parts are more...

Uh yeah, like a set of nice OEM "gilled" fenders for a 71 Cuda? How about an OEM Shaker hood and all the bubble parts to go with it? I know when I was pricing the 70-71 style Ralley Clusters, they were around $1000 for the core (light bar, switch panel, guages, radio panel, etc), and you'd need to almost double that on top to get them done right.

For repop stuff, if you want to install a shaker hood, it's $900 for the hood, and $2600 on top for the "bubble" and everything that goes with it...so you're at $3500 for the who shebang. Crazy! I remember when you'd be able to buy a nice running muscle car for that amount!

One more thing to add is I think the B Body Mopars are the best driving of the A B E bunch, IMO.

B-Bodies are bad enough with the price of parts, I feel for anyone trying to do a E-Body if the price of parts are more...

I know the prices are thru the roof and i don't see them coming down, if anything they will go up and up along with the age of the car. i do agree... Ive never owned a E body just the B but i have on occasion driven my brother in laws 71 Cuda and it doesn't compare to my Satellite as far as the ride goes. They are a larger car by some, so it would have a tendency to ride better IMO, ive had one Imperial, man now that was a nice ride..

welcome to the FBBO forum, good luck with your 67 Satellite build

welcome carey. now, don't fall off the wagon again.
