My First B Body - 1966 Belvedere II Wagon

One thing that surprised me is that these wagons arent really any larger than the sedans. Because of the roofline, the car looks huge, but the wheelbase isnt any different. I have never had a classic wagon before, so this wasnt something I had experience with. Heck, this car isnt much bigger than my '67 Barracuda or '70 Dart.

Actually the wheelbase on the 66-67 Belvedere wagons as manufactured was one inch longer than the sedans.

I scaled my 1967 Coronet wagon; 440, 4-speed, 3-seat, at 4250 lbs.

Hey guys - just introducing myself here on the B Body site. I have been a member over at the A body site (FABO) for years, as well as Moparts. I have a couple of A bodies, but just picked up this Belvedere II wagon. It is an old drag car a local guy raced back in the 80's / 90s. He passed away in 2008, and the car has been tucked away since in the hands of a couple different owners.

Anyway, it has a '69 440 / 727 combo, and I'm just going through fuel system and brakes to get it back running and driving again. I'm going to leave it looking like an old drag car, and will try to get it in the low 13's, high 12's. (My '67 Barracuda runs mid 10's - so I plan to leave this one a little milder)
