Word of mouth led me to this 70 Road Runner near me. Complete car minus engine and trans. Looks to have been a 383 auto column. RM21

I knocked on the door but no answer. I took these pictures but didn't dig to deep without permission.
It looks like it's been sitting for there for a long time. The rust I could see is typical and less then average for these cars. It was a vinyl top car which explanes the rust in the C piller and rear window frame. 1/4's not to bad, fenders and under hood area looked good.
I didn't open the doors but could view the interior through the vent glass. No visiable daylight in the floors and dash and seats looked pretty good and original. Don't know about the trunk floor.

I was told the asking price was $4500.00.... Probably some wiggle room there.
If anyone is interested I'll follow up. Located in Birmingham Alabama area.

Typical vinyl top rust. That one there looks bad just in the pics, most likely worse in person.$4500 might be a little much

well on a positive note it does look very complete and may well have been a pretty straight car from the looks of it. was probably pretty nice when parked. The debris on the cowl is a little worry some as well as the rear window area and bumpt which may indicate some worse things below, but what the hell at least someone finally peeled the vinyl top off LOL. the guy may have a the original motor and trans somewhere. bonus is A/C car.

I've never run across a RR with the lower bright trim and it has a go wing so that's cool as well as EV2 color. don't know if the wing and trim are original but i wish you luck with this one.

AC might be a bonus to some but not to me.I prefer the no frills type of car.

If you knocked on the door and no one answered, how did you find out the asking price was $4500?

:confused4:

Looks like a good start for a HEMI SUPERBIRD clone........

....and I do have a 500" Hemi that needs a home.

I HATE rust though.......

There never can be a comment "the quarters look good" when the condition of the car is like this. I media blast enough of these to know this thing will need everything, just telling you all truths.

Thats what my old 70 looked like it when i got it, i sure miss that car!

No drivetrain and rust, I think the $2,500 price is more realistic.

Appears be some good along with some really really bad. 4500 is to much IMO but if the only issue is the roof and the interior is mostly complete then it might be something. But if the floors are rotted and the frame punky then its a money pit

Thats what I was told by the friend who steered me towards the car. He has a body shop and is painting a 66 Dodge pick up for the fellow who owns the RR.
It took me two trys to locate the car.... IT's way back on a dead end country road. There is also a 66 Belvedere II there that looked pretty good.[/

Cool car..worth restoring. A roof, package tray and deck filler change needed. A-Pillar's look pretty rotten as well, and Donny's probably right on Que with the quarters needing to go, fun stuff...... I agree, $4500 seems a bit stiff. Either way, car looks cool just how it sits, nice find.
