Barn find!

Lots of brick.

Cool.

Brick is kinda rare where I'm from.
There is a lot of clay subsonic around here. There used to be several brick and field tile companies in the vicinity. Probably 25% of the old barns around here are brick. There are even a few brick corn cribs.

Brick barns and corn cribs are fairly rare around here. Brick corn cribs are really cool. Purdue Univ. had a research farm about 15 miles from here north of Indy. Buildings mostly from the 1920s, very cool state of the art stuff from that time. All leveled 12-15 years ago, housing developments now. Pitiful.

That's too bad.

20160901_191308.jpg this is an old corn crib on my property. It has a Meyer elevator that still works. It also has overhead storage for 5000bu. In addition to the 160 acres worth of ear corn storage. It needs a little love. The white metal on the face and roof are patches that I installed. I will paint it in ' 17 and put a new roof on it in 18. It's internal architecture and wood are really good. Lots of bridgeplanking over head to support the bins above. I store 2 vehicles inside and lots of other things as well

Yeah, I really like that. Too bad you're not closer, I'd like to that one up close. Thanks.

I will send you some inside pic of the crib and the old barn. I just finished cutting hay and will spend part of Monday baling and putting it up in the loft. May be a few weeks

Someone alert the discovery network.

There's a ripe audience for a series called "Barn Find" where they find an actual barn and rebab it into a living quarters.

That's cool. My girlfriend watches some of those barn wood builder shows. I would like to make the barn my mancave, too much work tho. And moparring is an expensive hobby.
