I tried searching but couldn't find anything. Has anyone had any experience with the Barry Grant speed demon line of carbs? I was thinking about buying one and any info or insight would be appreciated

I have one and so far I like it. Mine has the E-Z idle feature on it, [750cfm vac sec on a healthy 383], it acts like an adjustable air bleed. Allows you to compensate for a bigger cam without opening the throttle blades and exposing the idle transfer slot. Or drilling the butterflies! The early ones had issues with poor cleaning after machining, [shavings] and many folks got disgusted with them cause they couldnt get a brand-new carb to run right. I like the fit and finish and it actually looks like a modern carb. Milled mating surfaces vs Holleys cast mating surfaces [yuck]. Holley has changed little in many years, maybe they dont have to, but the sharp edges, casting flash and burrs make them look cheap. And since they havent changed the basic design of them in EONS, I'm sure the tooling has been paid for a million times over. Which makes me ask why they are so expensive. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the input. I was looking at picking up a 750cfm vac sec and electric choke. It looks like an excellent product, but just wasn't sure because all I ever hear about is holley.

There are negatives on the net about them. But check the dates. Some other members might have some thoughts during the day [this is a young post], So dont decide yet, I believe in getting all the info I can. Some folks swear by the Eddys. Good luck on whatever you choose.

Oh I haven't decided yet I will probably be getting a carb in a couple weeks so just geeting thoughts on this brand. I don't think I will get an Eddy, I have heard from several people that you have to constantly adjust them

I've had my Eddy for more than a year, and did one initial adjust, cuz the guy didn't know what the hell he was doing with it, and it's been golden since, in all kinds of weather and humidity. I've heard that holleys you have to constantly adjust! my .02
