Is There Anything To Consider When Relocating A Battery To The Trunk.

Can I Run a Wire To The Starter Relay
From The Positive Battery Wire Connection Or Run A 4 Gauge Wire From The Battery in The Trunk To The Relay, Grounding, Etc. Thank You

Is it going to be raced? if so there needs to be an external cut off switch in the positive feed at the battery.. If its a vented battery the vent should go outside the body.

It's best if the ground cable is ran to the block but many have done it successfully by just grounding to the chassis.. copper is a far better conductor than a steel frame. I added a master switch in the trunk as well, for all the more money they are they add convenience for maintenance plus double as theft protection.

Thanks Guys. No Racing. I Might AddA Switch For Theft Protection and I’ll Add a 4 Gauge Wire From The Main Battery Feed To The Starter Relay..

Should I Add a InLine Fuse Before The Relay?

What battery box/kit are you using for your battery?

One other thing, using an Optima battery eliminates the hazards associated with vented acid batteries.

I’ve always had good luck grounding to the frame. Use Optimas. There’s so many ways to skin a cat when it comes to mounting the battery in the trunk and lots of them work really well.
