Can someone tell me if the battery tray is different for a Hemi ? The tray that I have seems a little too wide. Old race car, battery was in the trunk. With new stock harnesses, was trying to put things back into there stock location when I ran into this. I have a parts catalog, but can not seem to find it the battery tray.

Just realized that my valve covers are probably the problem. Gonna have to think this one over.
Thank you

Yep, aftermarket covers is the issue. I have done it both ways. 1) notch the tray. 2) on this car I moved the battery to the trunk.

Yeah, the battery was in the trunk, old race car. I installed new M&H wire harnesses through out. So moved the battery back up front. It all worked out!
Thanks again.

Use an Optima Helicopter battery......slim and powerful.

The mention of helicopter makes me think expensive, because of the paper trail! My green top battery should hopefully work. What color caps are supposed to be in a B body? Red?

I believe so (red),at least for the bigger battery for 426 and 440 cars. I used red.
