Good Morning All, I have a 1967 GTX 4spd, 440. I would like to know if anyone out there knows if the battery tray was already installed on the assembly line before the car was painted.

Not 100 percent sure but it sure seems like all the tray fasteners were painted over.

The battery tray on my 66 Coronet is painted body color...I also checked out some of son's parts-cars (B Bodies) and they are also body color.
Tks

Yes painted body color, all 3 straps and bolts also.

Body colour, but don't expect the bottom to have any...
interesting! so your saying that the tray was installed before they sprayed the color. and according to what you say, they obviously didn't spry underneath the tray which makes sense. So is the bottom of the tray black primer?

Yes the tray was in place before the cars were painted. Therefore it would have what ever primer on it the car was given prior to paint. How much of each the guy on the line got under the tray may vary. Restoring, 99% of us paint the parts off of the car and then install them.
