I have some questions regarding Bendix’s boosters. My card originally came with front disc, brakes rear drum and manual master cylinder. I bought an aftermarket master cylinder and brake booster. I think it’s a 7 inch. I’ve been told that 8 inch boosters worked better. Mine I have to push pretty hard on to get the performance I want. I’m getting around 10 Hg.

Here are some of my questions:

There seems to be a lot of 8 inch Bendix units out there for Mopar B-Bodies.

1. Are they all similar functionally? Some units say duel I assume this mean's duel diaphragm? More power?

2. Are there any major differences between the inexpensive ones and the expensive ones? Visually, they all look the same. They all seem to have 1.125” bores….

3. Are the interfaces the same for the master cylinder and the firewall and pedal assembly? Meaning can I just bolt it in?

The gold one in the car is my current 7” unit.

Dual diaphragm boosters produce more output force than a single. Similarly, a bigger diam produces more force than a smaller diam.

I have read about those cad plated China ones giving trouble for folks after a couple of years. I sent my Bendix to Booster Dewey ( not the actual business name ) in Oregon ( now Washington State ) for a rebuild, super happy with the results.
