I'm looking to refinish my dual snorkel air cleaner on my 1970 Charger R/T. It has the black crinkle finish paint and some of the original paint looks like it was sprayed off with a pressure washer over the years. What have people had the most success with in refinishing these?
Thanks in advance!

I havent done an air cleaner but I did a 6.1 hemi intake with VHT black wrinkle plus high heat.

VHT like all the others said.. it’s nice stuff and durable.

I used the VHT wrinkle paint on my rocker covers and baked under several heat lamps that we have here at work. Hard to tell in these photos but they wrinkled nicely.

The factory never painted the inside of the aircleaner with wrinkle paint. Would catch dirt, possible come off and go into the engine or filter. Always see smooth paint inside them.

Good to know, I can blast/remove that for internal and repaint.

On another thread here recently I asked about wrinkling but in non-black colors. The solution I tried worked out fine was the standard wrinkle black, followed after wrinkling by a light coat of the color of choice. It surprised me how well it came out and was relatively easy.
Not sure yet how it will wear.
Shared for the guys that just have to be different.

Though not the same, I've had lots of parts powder-coated in different textures of black. It's east to clean, and stays on.
