I have a factory A/C 1968 Coronet. My goal for the car does not include hooking up the factory A/C. I would like to remove all of the old remnants to save some weight and "clean up" the firewall.

Any advice on how to clean-up the firewall without putting in a new firwall or welding on sheetmetal?

to put a non-AC box in an AC firewall, you are gonna be left with a lot of holes to fill....if you don't want to weld or put a new complete passenger side firewall in, maybe get a large piece of sheet metal and make it fit like an outside cover over your existing firewall....some welding may be required though to make it look good

Take off the engine stuff, and at the fire wall, just cap off the 2 ac nipples. Done and your free to move to the next project.
