Not that it matters but, I am confined to a wheelchair. Because of my disability, I decided that it was time to sell my Harley servicar reproduction that I had built, along with all of my Harley parts. Guy from Ohio answered and agreed to my price. He and a friend of his met me at my storage locker. Now, in that storage locker, I had the Harley and parts along with all of the '63 Polara parts that I had gathered for my final MoPar project. Everything boxed up and labeled.
While one guy kept my attention, the other guy was loading my Dodge stuff along with the Servi and Harley parts. Shame on me for thinking that I still can take care of myself. If I had it to do over, I would have tried getting someone to help me.
No fool like an old, crippled fool!

Shameful but if you have a phone number why not contact the police?

I heard a story of a guy selling his i-Phone recently here. Agreed to meet the buyer in a carpark - open air.

The seller gets out with the phone, and shows the potential buyer, who then fronts the guy all agro and says it's mine now and jumps in his car with his accomplice and takes off.

The guy selling was left shocked and shaken and minus his phone or money.

If I ever did want to deal with that - I would say a good meeting place would be at a Police Station. If they don't agree, they have something to hide.

Facebook is a cesspool full of criminals - not everyone is one, but many are. They thrive on the notion that people think they are safe because it's online.....wrong.

I stopped allowing people to come to my house years ago. I tell them to meet me at the local truck stop and I have a 45 prominently displayed when I exit the truck. I honestly don't think I've ever had any dishonest buyers I've dealt with, but most of them seem fixated on the Kimber and that keeps them all honest.

If and when I am able to sell, my Dodge, I'll ask one of my grandkids to drive it to the police station parking lot when meeting anyone.
I used to think that 90% of people were basically honest and the 10% wouldn't bother with me. Now, with the social media, i am beginning ti think that my numbers need to be reversed.
The only cameras at the storage facility are at the entrance where they watch the gate.
Police said that I have no proof, nor do I have valid suspects.
Yep, No fool like an old, crippled fool.
Thanks for the comments.

Don't beat yourself up because of lowlifes with no soul. Crappy having to find new parts but I've heard of worse outcomes unfortunately.

More than once I have sold stuff and guys have grabbed other stuff in the vicinity only to be told "that's not part of the deal" at which point they appologize and leave the stuff. I have never felt they were trying to rip me off. Some bring a buddy to help load, that's their only job. So how about you call the buyer back and explain what happened and maybe you'll get your stuff back with an appology!

Predators look for weakness. If you are in a wheelchair that is impossible to hide.
I’ve been limping around with a bad knee for a couple of months, and it has me thinking I may be a tempting target. Luckily I don’t look like I have anything worth stealing.

I'm sorry to hear about this. I'm sure Karma will get them. I know your still out your part's.

People suck! @wedgie check marketplace for your parts for sale. If you find them, go take them back. If you're near me, I'll back you up. I'm sure there's someone in every part of the country that would do the same.

Sorry this happened to you. People do suck!
If you have the guys phone number, give it to the police, and have them DO THEIR JOB, to get your property back! Don't take: "we can't do anything" for an answer! Have the storage unit, pull up video footage, at the entrance, the day you met the thieves...then have them send that footage to the cops! Don't give up! If that happened to me, I would be effing furious!

Sorry man. I understand that this would not be possible for the op but Whenever I list something I state that the transaction place is at the local police department parking lot.

Yep...that could work. Some criminals are so stupid they would sell the stolen gear on the same platform as where they stole it originally.

A few years ago an employee of a small factory I work for now stole a small compressor (what for nobody knows) and it wasn't seen for months. He wasn't suspected at all at the time....but the Production Manager was trawling that guy's Facebook pages and saw the compressor for sale. So he and the company owner paid this weasel a visit one day. I wouldn't mess with either of these guys....and the weasel was all sheepish....no argument - it was either give it back or go to jail.

Nobody has heard from the guy since. There was no mention of a concrete mixer of rubber boots.... :p
