RIP To Greg and his family! He raced clean! There has been a crazy amount of tragedies these days!

Thank you very much for posting this picture, what a nice looking family that was taken WAY too soon. Rest In Peace

Never heard of him either until my friend told me, and I looked on here and a car facebook page I follow. I don’t watch or follow Nascar as much as I used to since they showed their true colors, but I completely agree with you Mark. Rest In Peace to Greg family and all involved!Never heard of him, but RIP to all on the plane.
There's always something about a Uber rider getting robbed or worse in the news here at least once a week.RIP. The risks of a fat wallet. Like Kobe, shoulda Ubered.
It's more about convenience and getting out of the way of the crazies on the roads....I'm never in that big of a hurry...... RIP
When I started reading this post, I thought about him being along the same lines of Mark Martin. I cheered on MM just as much as I did for anyone in a Dodge to win! When Helene hit and the feds were dragging feet getting help down in the rural parts of western NC, Mr. Biffle took
the challenge and drummed up all manner of support streams to get critical supplies in the area.
Since most of the overland routes had been wiped out, he instead organized helicopter relief shifts and flew one
himself for days on end, on his own dime.
More than once, he landed and took on provisions at one of the staging areas I had frequented on this side of the
state line and I was impressed - he wasn't just piloting, but jumping out, helping to load, organizing...
Prior to that, I had only known about him that which most did that were familiar with the sport - that he was a fierce, but clean,
competitor along the lines of Mark Martin.
Once he hung it up with NASCAR, he didn't get bored - the dude was into all sorts of stuff, seemed like - and his
love for his family was readily apparent.
This is just a really sad event. No, he wasn't pilot this time, but he was SIC.
I can't even imagine how many lives around those aboard have been devastated....
Prayers for everyone involved.![]()
He was the only ford driver I actaully cheered on, such a great personality and non of the my **** don't stink attitude! When he was on with the setup very few could run with him! Was also in the funniest commercial I've ever seen in my life!
RIP and my condolensces to all.
Iirc, the vid in this thread mentioned they might have been doing that to keep a visual on the air strip....the weather wasn't exactly all that good and rain clouds were moving in.I watched a video about the plane's path and altitude. It was pretty weird, the altitude was going up and down abnormally. Maybe Richard Cranium can shed some light on this.
Go watch Juan Browne's video.. Link in post 22The video I watched was all computer info on the path and altitude. They made no mention of trying to visually see the runway. I'm not saying that's false, it just wasn't mentioned. Very high rates of climbing and descending. They were postulating something was wrong with the plane. Again, a problem with the plane's controls is not confirmed.
7 was the last report that I heard a little after 3pm today....They say 6 on board, looks awfully IFR in all the pictures I've seen.
