225/235 max, anything bigger and you might see abnormal wear patterns.

275 60 15 on my 70 cuda with no problem, they wear in the middle from too much air pressure.
If I remember I ran about 25 psi in the rear, with a pinion snubber the traction was great on the street

275 is tall tire, just keep in mind the taller the tire the more sidewall movement in a hard turn. Switched one of my charger from 245 to 275. Noticed the difference in handling in hard turn, just little too much sway.

Does anyone have pics of 275/60/15's on these wheels? These are 225/70 and I don't like them.

The OEM aluminum wheels for the '79 300 are 15x6, not 15x7.

I have been running P255/60R15 on 15x8 Enkei wheels at all four corners since 1982. No issues whatsoever.

        Personally, I don't like the taller 275s.

A 275-60 is about 9" wide....ideally, a 9" wide wheel is perfect. Yeah, you can use 7" wheels but your air pressure will have to be adjusted for them so they do not wear the center of the tread prematurely and they won't handle at their maximum since the side walls will have more flex with the lower psi. I have 255/65R15's mounted on 8" wheels on my old Dakota and that thing handles pretty good. With inflation around at least 85% of the max, they have worn nice and evenly.

This is mine with 255/60's on all 4 corners. I don't think you can go any wider on the stock rims.

I'm running 245/60's. I used one of the conversion tables to convert the original GR60's listed on the 300 brochure DSCF0011.JPG

I'd like to get one of those hood insulators, any idea where I can find one?

I doubt they are remanufactured. Might find a good used one.
