I'm working on the interior of my 67 Plymouth Belvedere I and am trying to decide where to go with it. The car was originally blue interior/white exterior and that just doesn't work for me. Blue kind of limits the exterior color options. So I thought maybe I'd go with black and leave the exterior color for an inspirational moment in the future. Anyway, here is my question...
Will the gloss black color get super hot in the sun causing forearm burns on the doors and a frying skillet for a dash? Maybe a low gloss black is a better option?

Also, I'm thinking I just need a single stage black paint for this piece.

Thanks,
Jon

I use a single-stage urethane gloss black for the inside door & upper qtr piece. Like Chroma-One.

My first car was black interior and it didn't burn me up living in Houston....

Did any of you use the paint you mention on your console?

I did here is a pic. Thanks! wanted to be different in a subtle way.

I converted my interior from Saddle Tan to black. Used John Deere Blitz Black on the dash frame and steering column. SEM Landau Black on the vinyl trim pads, A pillar posts. When painting over plastic and vinyl you need a good degreaser and adhesion agent otherwise the paint will flake off. They should be available at the same place that stocks the SEM. I still have to paint the doors and rear garnish molding, but they will be gloss black.
