brace?

does anyone know what and where this brace goes? I'm reassembling my 68 roadrunner and I had thought that it was a bracket/brace for the clutch pedal assembly...to long to fit anywhere there though. could it be a brace for the dash somewhere? to long i think for anything like that too... I'm stumped

A pillar.

Goes from the top left of steering column support to the panel on left where your kick panel is right in front of the e-brake set-up...
