My 72 Dodge Coronet with Disc Brakes in front. I'm trying to find the correct brake pads. 2 sets from the autoparts store. They wern't machined right and wouldn't fit my Calipers. Where can I get Brake pads that will fit. Thanks

Is your Coronet disc brake set-up original (stock) or did someone add the disc set-up?
Perhaps that is why the auto parts store can not match them up.

RAYBESTOS Part # PGD39M {#PGD39R} Professional Grade Metallic; For Use w/Single Piston Caliper

simply pull the caliper and bring the pads (existing ones) to your local NAPA store
Match them up
See my above post, Data from Rock Auto

Too bad you ordered them, already -- because I have NEW OLD STOCK ++ ASBESTOS ++ Brake pads which will
be FAR FAR better for your braking and your not ripping up your rotors!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keep your receipt -- return them -- if you care about your car!!!!!! I have the N.O.S. ASBESTOS in both bonded
and riveted!!!!!!!!!!!
The old part # s are D39 or D85 -- or the full #s are 781D39 and 7018D85....
All four (inboard and outboard) are the same for the pin - style caliper......

The Pads from Rock Auto fit The part no PDM 39 Raybestos set. I recieved a anti rattle spring when I got my calipers back . I cant figure out the right way to mount this thing Do I even need it? mobileparts what are you asking for on the brake pads. Thanks

To compete with the "garbage" world of pads -- I do the ++ N.O.S> ++ ASBESTOS ++ (which are 15 times better than the new friction material "garbage") for just $ 35 a set + if I flatten the N.O.S. box they come in -- I can get four pads to fit in the "if it Fits it ships" $ 6 box ---- total for 1 set of pads = $40 / shipped in the U.S.A......
Have PLENTY MORE for this car -- am at Chryslers @ Carlisle in Pennsylvania in July and the Mopar Nationals in Columbus, Ohio, in August; as well.....
Call me -- Craig -- 516 - 485 - 1935... New York.... Thanxxxxxxxxxxxx.

I am having the same issue, Coronet 14...I have spent hours searching for pix of an installed caliper with this replacement clip, spring or whatever its actual name is, with no result. I am installing brakes on my 1970 Charger R/T and am currently waiting on a return call from A1 Cardone (bought replacement single-piston calipers from them), they seem to be willing to help but their engineering department had a tree fall over their power line so it may take a few days....have you had any luck in the meantime figuring it out?

Call this guy! http://www.theramman.com

Just an FYI- if you convert to slider calipers (say from an M body), you can get ceramic pads.

They'll outperform those other technologies and last a heck of a lot longer to boot.

I've had good luck with Rock Auto parts. They show 2 different styles.
One with F Disc Pads RECOMMENDED REPLACEMENT IS ORGANIC,CORONET w/SLIDING CALP
And F Disc Pads RECOMMENDED REPLACEMENT IS ORGANIC,PIN TYPE; Special Edition Engine VIN M
Their prices are VERY good and no problem with quality so far. My 2 cents.

Thanks, Scooby! His site certainly does seem like the place to find the parts I am going to need, hell of a time trying to find anything from proper dust caps, positioners, rubber bushings or anything related to the front caliper/rotor/bearing assemblies.

I found an excellent picture of how the anti-rattle clip fits on the caliper, immediately lost it after not saving it to my favorites...dumb,dumb,dumb...anyway I have that small issue solved. It would seem that the new calipers still require using the old 'positioner' clips, which are of course brittle and squished from years of use, so I will spend some time on the RamMan's site and see what he can do to help.

If anyone needs help with the brake pad ant-rattle clip placement, I can at least provide a pic of mine (clip installed, now waiting to find the rest of the parts to complete the caliper change).

Again, thanks for the guidance!

I Left the anti rattle clip off. The Calipers didn't have them since I had the car. If they squeak I will get some stuff to put on pads. I had to send my master cyl back to Ram Man. Waiting to hear back on why the piston jammed
