If follow, on my '63 which I converted to disk and power brakes, the pedal hole attaching to the MC rod was no bushing, a bolt with anti-slip nut. Some slop allowed. I installed a bushing here though (now to the booster rod) over that bolt allowing yet for free play; just not as much as there had been. At least when doing this, this is what I had.
