I am putting the black Mopar Performance valve covers on the 440 (69) and I have been trying to find how to attach the Chrome Breather on these covers. The passenger side looks like I have to put a grommet in the hole to fit the PVC valve. Normally on the drivers side with stock valve covers you just push the breather on the tube, but how does one go about putting the breather in the hole of the Mopar Performance one.
I have seen a lot of pictures where people have done it, but the pictures always show from the top and I cannot get a good view. I have not tried to just push it into the cover yet because I left them at the body shop. When I go back there I want to see how to add it. Then I can run the hose to the carb.

I'm going from memory here, but I think the Mopar Performance valve covers are 1970 style. There was a change between 69/70. The big, double-clip breathers that push into the valve cover tube will not fit a 70+ valve cover. You need a different breather (70+ style) that has a nipple on the bottom & yes, it pushes into a rubber grommet, just like the PCV valve.

Here is a picture of the covers I am using.

I have seen pictures of people using these with the long Breather for 69

I found a better picture of what I am trying to do.

That 69 and earlier breather won't work, unless you make up some sort of adapter. Those covers are notorious for leaking around the grommets.

Not sure if I am answering your question, but I have a breather in place of the fill cap on the drivers side and the PCV (with grommet) on the passengers side.

Thanks Ranger, kinda what I am doing.

RTV on the inside around the grommets base solves leaking issues.

Finding the right grommet is a look into the MP catolog.
Stock equipment does t always work with MP parts. You may have to get creative.

If you look closely, that breather has the twist cap welded/attached to the bottom of it to fit the MP valve cover. You can see the ears of it below the breather just barely sticking out. My buddy did that to my Runner before I put the stockers back on. He welded a MP twist cap with a hole drilled through the center to the bottom of a breather. Looked and worked sweet when I was using those covers. They also make a twist cap one that'll fit the MP twist oil cap hole with a breather built into it.

Great 91, thanks for the help!

Not a problem. I had to cut and add a thin piece of rubber gasket material on top of the cork that was on there as it had some slop. I have seen others that fit right out the box, so maybe different castings of the MP covers? Either way once I added the rubber to it it sealed and fit awesome.
