Thanks, I've never seen a reinforced rubber one on a car... just the same rubber as all of the other seals like I have. Guess those guys bought from Year One in '90 as well. LOL Doubtful I'll ever put that one "in the way" anyhow.
Guess I should have googled before I riveted like every other seal attachment on the car, and what the 1990 install instuctions state, but it's too late now. Apparently the only two plastic push pins on the car were used there. OE probably didn't get foam, but wanted a good seal and no scratched paint! Now Spring had better come soon while I tinker on this 57,000 mile car... or next thing you know the drive train and K frame will be on the shop floor!
