Some of the plastic trim on this 64 sport fury has broken bosses where the screw passes through. I wanted to come up with something easy and permanent that would look decent.
See the picture with the big recessed hole where the screw hole should be - these are the kick panels.
I went to the hardware store and grabbed "button plugs" that fit perfectly into that well/recess on the outside surface of the trim. Drill a SMALL hole thru the center of the plug so that the screw (you may need longer than stock) will thread into the plug. You have just created a custom fastener that will hold the panel in just fine and can be reused many times.
