What's the best method to get a real nice brushed finish on the trim? I've used scotchbrite and sandpaper but it's not quite the look I'm after.

Always used a red scotchbrite pad and ALWAYS go in 1 direction!

tail panel?
All of it. I don't like shiny things, can't stand chrome or polished aluminum. I spent hours and hours sanding and polishing the trim for my car but just didn't like it so now I'm trying to get a nice brushed look.
