Are the tracks what determine the driver side and passanger side seat? My 65 Coronet came with some funky seats and now I have the right ones. The reason I ask is I only have one chrome piece for each seat bottom and I want it to be on the side that is toward the door on each side. The seats have mount holes on both sides. I have no lever on the seats to release them and the tracks are not here rigth now for me to trial and error. Thanks

My guess, because I just had my driver's seat out and kind of noticed it,is that one side is "lower" than the other. As in the floorboard gets slightly higher going to the tunnel;the lowest points being by the door. The lower sitting brackets would be your outboard side. No adjustment levers? That's weird;any bracket for one on the frames? I'd say look for which direction the brackets seem to "point",and that may indicate where they go. Good luck;please keep us informed.

If you can, toss some pics out. There's far more knowledgeable folks than me on here.

Maybe I explained it wrong. It was confusing after I read it again. Here is a picture of the seats showing the chrome I am talking about. I am trying to fit the chrome trim piece to the seats and only have 1 Bottom per seat. Maybe there is not supose to be one on the console side which would be great, then I'm not missing anything. See the photo. My tracks are not here so I don't know which side to put the trim on the seat unless the seats can be put on either side. I can then assign, so to speak, a right and left side by putting them on opposite sides.

Thanks for the help, Thats what I was hoping. Now, are the seats ambidextrous until placed on the tracks?

No, you want the adjuster release handle on the outside.

x2 for wedgie!

Ok, I'm a slow learner. Here are my seats I am reassembling after a few years.
The adjuster release handle you are referring to is on the track not the seat correct? There is not one on my seat as it sits, it is on the track so to clarify, this seat could be used on either side based on what set of tracks I place on it??? I get it, just trying to help the others that might be confused. lol :icon_confused:

I dont see the sliders on the seat and that will have the handle to move the seat forward/back.
