I'm going to upgrade my wiring on my 72 RR and doing the Mad ammeter bypass first. How do I get these little buggers to disconnect? I know there's a plastic clip that I need to spring with a tiny screwdriver or long T pin. Using the top white wire (that's been cut) as an example, is the clip (as I am holding it) on the right, left, bottom, top? Thanks.

I use a small jeweler's type flat screwdriver. Looks like the tab on the connector is facing towards the outside of the plastic housing. Go in from the other side and pull lightly on the wire and I should come right out.

Yep its kind of a push in a tab on the connector while pulling it out to release it from the bulkhead.

Check out this 69 connector page you have the same type connectors for the most part.

I use small needle nose plier and squeeze together the brass prong on da other side then pull out this side.

Thanks everyone. So, to be clear, I put the screwdriver or needlenose on THIS side of the connector to release. Not the wire side, but the terminal end side (I grabbed this photo off the internet. Mine isn't baked). No wonder I was having a tough time. Thank you very much.

Yep squeez the tip and push out
Thanks Big Man. It's so obvious now when I look at the terminal end. I really appreciate your help and thank you for taking the time to post the terminal and connector chart.

R/T is right, I was thinking those were females which have the metal tangs on the flat part of the terminal.

I thought the same thing!

Yes squeeze the gap closed a little, then slip it out the engine bay side. Then use a small screwdriver after cleaning with brass/wire brush, and pry a little open and shove it back in!

Just make sure thems all straight before you shove the whole thing back on, make sure it clicks in all the way.
