So budskin is in Sonora area and the rain's coming down ; how is everything in one of my favorite states?

It's been wet & warmish for this time of year,
getting a ton of much needed rain our reservoirs are filling up
pretty good...

We've had a lot of rain this year, far more than normal
& far less snow thou, higher elevations just a few miles up the road
are getting snow than rain, making for a real mess
I'm not complaining I don't have to shovel that way

The valley is having down stream flooding issues,
we don't have much of that stuff here, where I'm at...

Supposed to be a really bad storm coming this week too,
not looking forward to that crap, up to 3-6 ft of snow at the higher elevations
& 12" of rain in the lower elevations, that's a real gully washer/winter storm for here...

Anyway,
We're doing well thanks for asking, just a little waterlogged :BangHead:
bored too, I'm use to the 300+ days of sunshine,
only reason I still live here...

++++++++++++ Got the handle wrong (budnicks) crappy memory....

No harm no foul I've been called far worse

I think we are getting more rain this year than we did last year with the El Niño!!

Much needed moisture needless to say. Hopefully we'll get some restoration for our year around water sources I.e reservoirs, ground aquafurs, etc. we've been hit very hard with the drought. Frankly I love the rain here.

We went from records rain here in October, to a dry November and a cold December. Its snowed down in the valley for the 3rd or 4th time this winter, and snow is again in the forecast tomorrow evening. They started salting the freeways in around Portland, first time that has happened in 40 years

LOL- WE have the Great Lakes, IF we need them.

I have a 2 gal. bucket with my dogs "outside toys" in it,
it's full in 2 day that 10"s+ & it's been overflowing since early this afternoon

snow upcountry is unreal, I drove up the hill to check on my aunt,
she's only about 5200ft, silver dollar size snowflakes, it was cool as hell
they were estimating it was only snowing above 6000ft
she got at-least foot in about 3 hrs, ontop of another
at-least a ft she had from before, she's gonna' get probably 4 ft over night...

I'll have to go back up & shovel again, she's too old doesn't need to be falling...

The ski resort at 6200, says expecting 6 ft over the yesterday & today
past 2 days accumulations

My buddy at Kirkwood says it was a white out, 80+ mph winds,
1st early part of the morning, there & at Sierra Ski Ranch too
they have gotten over 70"s so far in just this storm,
they are the highest {IMO the best} Ski resort in Calif.

Budnicks is a trouble and weathermaker.

Not sure how much control I have over the weather,
but hell yeah I'm a trouble maker

I heard on the new today that some Sacramento dam is being opened for the first time in 10 years! Take that water while you can get it!

I saw that too...

Yolo Bypass is being flooded as I type, it's in Sac Valley Hwy 80 area
great pheasant hunting area, it's an overflow for flood control too,
that whole part of the valley was under water before mass population
& all the Army Corp. of Engineers Levies were here in Calif...

I also say that Folsom Lake is rising at about 5ft a day right now,
that's a **** load of water

New Mellonies Res. was about at 25%, it's at over 45% & rising fast
just from this last storm, it's still pouring all damn day too,
1st time in a decade almost, it's a deeper res. too, steep edges etc.

Don Pedro Res. has to release water, 1st time in almost a decade
they have to keep at 80% ort less for flood control

Lake Tahoe is filling up at almost the same rate as Folsom Lake too

Fishing here in the Sierras is going to be great this year I suspect
OK enough of the weather report for todays segment:lol:

He weather Gods finally saying we've had enough. Let the water flow on California!!

Amen brother,
I think if the water is "actually finally" managed properly now,
none of the overburdening eco-Nazis BS,
we did pass a Prop last election to help farmers/ranchers &
hold back more water
, less for the smelt/fingerlings/hellgrammites/frogs BS
either LA & SF Bay Area, takes most of ours anyway...
That maybe just maybe, we can say no drought next year,
1st time in 6+ years, we really aren't really in a drought up here
but most all of our water mostly goes to down to SF, making us really low,
so does our sewage  chit goes downhill :poke:
just to be able to water all their opulent lawns & plants, parks etc.
WASTE

It's Calif. the Liberal maj. politicians will find a way to f--k it all up,
I have confidence they've done it for the past 25 years now...

It poured down at my place, Hanford, last night. I thought it was funny that my neighbor across from me watered his lawn yesterday!! I had that "WTF" moment, and just laughed.

I saw there was 9' of snow "overnight" in many locations
also I-80 is closed "overnight" just above 3000' on our side

I guess there are also avalanche scares in a few places too,
rightly so too
wet snow, followed by rain, even at higher elev.'s, than dry snow
perfect storm/recipe for avalanches
there were a couple of big landslides I read about too
hwy-88 & 89 IIRC big snow drifts & road closures getting to Silver lake & Kirkwood area

Weather related chit is happening up here in the sticks

supposed to be nicer this weekend
A break from the damn rain/snow, even if we need it
the valley & downstream/flooding are getting hammered too

It's raining again here today. My pool is getting over filled.
