Can someone let me know if this is right or not. The holes in my fenders seem to be off even though I've never messed with them. On the passenger side fender the holes are inline with the body line but on the drivers they are angled inward a little bit.

I fit the bullet turn signal assembly on and the passenger side's turn signal base sits even with the top edge of the fender so if somebody could check and maybe take a pic of thier turn signals and where they sit I would be most grateful.

Hey Bill,
I went out and took a few shots of a '68 Sport Satellite in the shop. Sorry about the poor photo quality, but you can get a rough idea of where they are on this car. There were two different turn signal indicators in a coffee can in the trunk. The one that lines up with the holes would have the upper body mouldings attached to it. The other one would not. The last shot is a different car with the upper mouldings. You can see the light is quite close to the edge of the fender. Hope this helps. :eek:ccasion14:

Huh, so I wonder which side of my fender is the correct one. I know my turn signals don't have that trim piece on the base. As it stands right now I just told my body guy to make the passenger side look more like the driver's side fender. It just seemed to look more correct to me.

The holes in your fenders also look quite a bit larger (unless it's an illusion). Perhaps someone installed different year/style lights at some point.

the holes that follow parallel to the body is the correct way. maybe somebody replaced the drivers fender with one that didn't have a fender mounted signal and messed up the alignment of the holes.

Ok so parallel is the correct way, Do you have these turn signals on your Roadrunner? I'm not questioning your answer it's just that I found a thread on another forum about the same thing and someone over there said the holes should be slanted inward like my drivers side fender. I don't know if this person is speaking from experience or something he's been told. If you've got the same bullet turn signals on your RR then I know for sure how I need my holes to line up. Thanks roadrunnerman.

no mine does not have the holes for the turn signal, but i have some fenders in storage that i can look at when i get home in a couple days and see if they have them unles someone else can first.

Here's my 69 with factory turn signal holes. Note the slanted pattern on both fenders.

Not to add to the fire but I'm Pretty sure my satellite holes are parallel to the fender.

I think I'm going to go with Meep Meep on this one. Not to totally disregard everyone else but I know that Meep's got a Roadrunner and maybe Satellites are different. Also it appears my driver's side fender is original to the car and the passenger fender was replaced at some point, probably with a Satty fender. Thanks everybody for all the help and suggestions.

On a side note it appears the factory didn't really care if the holes were exact. It looks like on one of Meep's fenders the holes slant just a hair more than the other.

These cars were built in the 60's. I don't think anything was exact!!

Lol, I guess so. I'm too young to know the hippie days. :)

i just looked at the fenders i have in storage and the holes do angle in on both the right and left.so maybe some were angled and some were parallel depending on chrome trim.
