I may have just posted on the wrong section...so here I am. I see diagrams online and am confused on where the starter is wired in the chain. My wireds are in bad shape and it seems someone has spliced and taped in the past. I have a second voltage regulator that I purchased at an auto store that does not look like anything I remember... so I have a new ingition mod, and a new voltage reg that looks like the old one. I think the lime green and brown wire go to the alternator but do I need a grounding cable? does the + cable go direct from the battery? AND there is a #1 stamped on the cylinder closest to the passenger that contradicts everything I find on firing order!.. I'm frustrated. I love the mechanical part of this rebuild but am dragging my feet when it comes to wiring.
