Good Morning everyone,
Couple of questions....
having issue with lifters failing in my 440.
the cam im running is a comp cam 23-712-9.
Lifters are 8921
Anyone use these? Are you having same issue?
Thinking of switching to Comp hydraulic flat tappet duration 292/292 lift 501/501
Anyone use these?
How do they compare to each other?
Just looking for some opinions.
Thanks

Honestly, just because it's newer doesn't mean it's relatively better. You may make some additional power with a faster ramp-rate, but you'll go through lifters/cams quicker than oil if it's a street driven car. I would just go the solid lifter route personally, stick in an MP 528 (stock iron heads) or MP 557 (aluminum heads), and find a NOS set of crane/isky iron adjustable rockers. That's a fairly bullet proof combination that will perform well and is fairly inexpensive.
