Toying with a cam swap. What are the chances that the solid lifters will come out with a strong magnet or do I say the hell with it and take the intake manifold. Engine fairly new rebuild. Low, tough miles

It's so easy to take the intake off a RB/B Mopar engine
IMO just do it, makes it make the job, so easy that way...

what cam did you end up going with ?

I hope you talked to an actual Camshaft expert & not just use a cam
"someone on the internet recommended"

I seemingly do remember a thread you started, about this somewhere,
you were trying to tame it down, do a gear & converter change too etc.

good luck

i've changed cams several times in an rb engine with the intake on and factory iron heads using a telescoping magnet. there is tool for doing this with hydraulic tappets. the down side would be the lack of visual inspection but it's doable.

Quicker just to pull the intake, as you will spend a lot of time fishing the lifters out of the valley after you drop them, trying to put them in with a magnet. I can tell you this from experience.
