What's the highest lift cam ( big block) you guys would go on a non roller motor?

stock heads .510, anything more and you will run into problems.
A friend is running a Mopar Performance purple camshaft .509/.509 in his 440 with stock 906 heads, 4 speed and it work great!!!!
