Code:

WP is premium class R/T is WS (special) G is usually 318 but could be 383 prior to 70's. If the 6th is a 2, it should be a 72. No R/T in 72.

5th is Engine

K is 360 in mid/late 70's

No X engine size that I am aware of.

U is a late 440, L is an early.

Is this a charger?

Pre- 66 shouldn't have W as first character and I don't think had any letters, but my pre-66 is not good.

It is a 66 red on red I still can't make out the engine code the guy got it from said it had a HEMI. This car was a uncles and he doesn't know much about it there is no engine or trans it was a four speed.

http://www.mymopar.com/index.php?pid=87

I can't find the one for 66 and older....Hope this helps

OK, what you have is actually a `67 Coronet 500 Equipped with a 383 4bbl backed by a console shifted 4 spd.(kool). Came with 14" police steelies w/ black sidewalls and a 3.23 sure grip, bright red with a black vinyl top and premium interior. AM radio fender mounted turn signals and a tach. The scheduled production date is a bit strange, B08 is Nov. 08 of `66, but I don't know what the extra 0 meens(reads B080)? Somebody painted it blue at some point. This is the best I could do with G.G.'s White books.

You're good Matt!! i plugged in the F/T into the my mopar decoder and this is what i got...

CAR: Dodge Coronet 500 2 Door Hardtop
ENGINE: 383cid 4-bbl HP V8
TRANSMISSION: 4-Speed Manual Floor Shift
TIRES: 7.75 x 14 WSW
BUILD DATE: November 08.
AXLE: 3.23 Rear Axle Ratio, Sure Grip
INTERIOR: Premium Trim Grade, Vinyl Bucket Seats. Black Interior.
PAINT: Monotone Red Paint.
OTHER: Black Upper Door Frame Color.

either way...that looks like 67 up F/T...

Thanks for all the helpful facts title is 66 and everything matches up.any ideas on keeping it original or just go with the 440 I have 73 motorhome.? How do go about a restore without any powerplant? If anyone has a 66/67 383 block I may be in the market for one. Thanks again.

They made 766 of them, so I would consider that rare enough, I would definitely restore the body and interior faithfully and it shouldn't be to difficult to find a 383 with the correct date code.

I revived some good news the engine and trans for the coronet are living in the trunk of a station wagon at the brothers house. but i have to haul off the station wagon 1969 furry wagon big block auto . what a Christmas gift spare parts.
