A friends friend who is supposed to be up on this said the Russians were the only ones that used that air tube on top of the barrel, meaning that China didn't use that tube. I guess Romania is pretty close to Russian

My Chinese SKS has the tube. I have never seen one without the tube.

Yes the SKS is a carbine rifle, operated by a gas piston, if you haven't cleaned it before you should, or don't it'll still go bang.

I bought mine in the early/mid 80's. I paid $79 for it at Woolworths. I just saw them for sale at Bob's for $395. I think that is a pretty fair price. I thought about getting another since I gave mine to my son when he turned 16

yes, it came with 5 mags in a box "new" still with grease in the barrel

Its the Spike bayonet version... The slots allow the blood to drain.... I think mine has the blade bayonet.. I need to dig it out and look...
