MY gas and temp gauge arent working, is this loose wire the problem and if so can sombody please tell me where is goes, im so tired of going out and hoping to god that i have enough gas to get to my destination IMG_3214.jpg

its a black connector and both blue wires. 1973 dodge charger, non ralley gauges

IMG_3213.jpg better picture thanks a lot for the diagrams, still cant find it though:( but deffinatly will save those, will come in handy no doubt

Check the main connector on the back of your instrument cluster for loose or broken connector pins or if you can see it check the printed circuit board for broken circuit paths. That black connector with two blue wires on it may be just a factory option like convertible or sun roof switch. There is a dark blue wire to your fuel sending unit but as it enters the bulk head connector it turns to dark green according to your wiring diagram to the turn signal switch harness. where

Your temp sensor wire is a violet wire right from the cluster connector "K" to the sensor.

The only connection I could see between your cluster connector and the turn signal harness is a tan and light green wire that appears to feed the turn signal harness.

Check fuse's also check voltage limiter on the back of the cluster.

I dont know about the plug but sounds a lot like the voltage limiter is no good, does your oil pressure work?

not a clue, it was all working fine when i unplugged it, sadly that was a few months back and i didnt take good pictures to referance.

so there are no seperate plugs for the gas gauge and it would all be in the main connection?

there are also three studs coming from what looks like the back of the gauges, does anything go to them?

socket for seatbelt light above the cluster. Need to remove the insert, and go throught the dash pad ( will find the provision for it ) to reach the seatbelt insert location

MAYBE will need to loose the cluster to be able to go reach the access to the insert area, specially on rallye clusters ( these are deeper so less room to get access to that area under the dash
