Can't ID my block (with photos)

You can look at the casting number thats on the drivers side. Part of that number is the engine size. In the mix it will show 318, 340, 400 etc. The casting numbers can be broken down to production dates also.

its a roadblock ive hit many times. ive since cleaned the area even deeper to confirm the number. posting to the forums is my last shot. no matter where i search i cant seem to find that number but its clearly stamped on the block where the block casting number should be

Look on the other side, your CID will be listed in that casting number

You need a casting number, looks like this
