The 383 blocks are about 10 lbs lighter than a 440 and the torsion bars are smaller. Hard to believe they handle better.

I don’t know what they used in the Intercepter, don’t imagine it would be torsion bars. Someone will know more than I do. I read the article about 60 years ago.
